Those pitchers are 3 of the top 5 salaries for the era. But looks like their whips (all 1.13) are just out of reach, or were just too expensive. I'm a little surprised by Gehrig.

My SP4 was between Feller and Red Lucas. Feller was $3M more expensive (although he had more innings). I decided to use the salary savings to add a RP instead. Plus, Lucas can hit really well.

My "expensive" OF was between Klein and P.Waner. I decided on Waner because I knew I was going to be playing in a negative HR park and didn't want to pay for Klein's HRs. I never considered Gehrig for the same reason. Mize has some seasons with HRs in the mid 20's and is cheaper than Gehrig.

I almost took League Park II instead of Polo Grounds. But decided I wanted my ballpark to help my pitching more than my hitting.
