kind of wish I had been the only one who hadn't taken a 2nd catcher - lol. 2003 Ivan Rodriguez - 4,820,985. Almost went with Wilin Rosario and his one great HR season.

Thanks everyone for making this a quick and clean draft! We stayed ahead of the clock almost the entire time and only had a couple minor hiccups.

Pick Owner Needs Prediction Actual Match? Notes
1 reddtrain SS Alex Rodriguez Alex Rodriguez Exact Easy guess…he had no SS and A-Rod was clear top guy.
2 nebhusker SS Troy Tulowitzki Troy Tulowitzki Exact Position was easy, but tough call between Tulo, Story, and Hanley.
3 steveizzy OF Luis Gonzalez Todd Helton No First surprise and kinda set the rest of the draft in commotion…the big loser from Larry Walker getting taken off the board…with Kruk/Jack Clark better at 1B than OF thought he would opt for the OF and while no Walker, Gonzalez is pretty good…hard to be upset with Helton though.
4 jtpsops SP Randy Johnson Randy Johnson Exact Easy one…was the only owner to finish the draft with under 1450 IP and he was well below at 1203…great gamble...only question was whether someone ahead would just bite the bullet and take RJ, but they had big holes to fill…great pick.
5 thehuseman 1B Todd Helton Jose Bautista No I had his proxy so I know he would have taken Helton had he been there, which is domino #2 in the Larry Walker saga…a bit surprised he went with Bautista over the other 1B but looks like he'll just slide Boggs to 1B, although I did have Bautista as best available (but just barely).
6 calhoop 1B Carlos Delgado John Olerud Same Pos Easy position to guess as he didn't have any 1B…just guessed the top guy but there were 3-4 to consider here, so just guessed wrong!
7 redcped 1B? Paul Goldschmidt Carlos Delgado Same Pos Not quite as clear as calhoop's need at 1B as he could have played Bob Bailey and Bill Freehan there (with Freehan splitting between C and 1B), but was easily his weak spot I thought…again just guessed the wrong one.
8 pstuts73 1B, OF, P Zach Greinke Luis Gonzalez No The first tough one to peg as pstuts was pretty full…Luis Gonzalez falling this far is hard to pass up though…wonder if he would have gone a different direction if Gonzalez was gone so let's call this Larry Walker domino #3.
9 nobagel69 3B Jose Bautista Nolan Arenado Same Pos Definitely needed a 3B but this is Walker domino #4 as likely he would have taken Bautista here…Arenado is a fine backup but as we see later on it caused some more ripples.
