i don't know how you could possibly assume WIS is deleting posts that are critical of them..do you read this forum?

heh, someone either felt bad about their inflammatory posts last night and deleted them or they were removed. slips my mind who that was right now...
My bet is that the posts were removed, which is just an embarrassment for WIS/seble.

You can't go around removing posts just because they're critical of something happening. If they're truly profane or something like that it's a different story, but I don't think that was the case here (from what I remember).

Censoring users' negative opinions is just awful.
They were mine under my other ID (so ban this one also WIS).  Apparently, certain site staff don't like it when you're critical of their "work".  I probably shouldn't mention specifically who site staff is, but you can probably make an educated guess.  I guess sometimes the truth stings realllllly bad........

What's really humorous is that the part they banned me for, had more to do with e-mailing Foxsports (you know, the parent company) demanding answers than it did anything else.  Sounds like a certain site staff might be a little on edge about his "job".........

There are plenty of people who are constantly critical yet DON'T get redacted posts or deleted. .why do you think that is?
7/8/2010 11:13 AM
I didn't remove any posts (or even see the offending ones), but you can't expect to say whatever you want.  We let people get away with a lot in these forums, but there is a line.

It was my colonels19 post that was deleted and I've consequently been banned for 2 weeks, pending my appeal sent this morning. I'm not entirely sure if I was banned because I called seble bush league or because I suggested what he might earn in the $ category, or both...but it was due to a "personal attack" in the now deleted post.

I would just like to apologize for my behavior here, I am trying to turn a new leaf and be a better person in these forums, but it isn't going to happen overnight. I didn't mean to "attack" seble personally; the point I was trying to get across is that there's a greater expectation from someone/ANYONE that gets paid to do something as opposed to someone that's doing something for free, thus suggesting what seble might make was/is irrelevant, but still out of bounds nonetheless. Whether he likes it or not, seble is WIS to a lot of HDers here and not necessarily an outside person from our viewpoint, thus he's inherently going to be subject to more criticism than the average person here, I mean, he runs the game. I tend to vent my frustrations in an abrasive manner and it is something that needs work, but in fairness to me, I'm judging seble on 6 years worth of work that some of you are now agreeing with me on, and we've never really had a reconciliation or a respect between us per se, which I've somewhat desired.

I sincerely hope that this was/is a wake-up call for me and that I can continue posting to show that I am contrite.

Thank you all and take care.

If this is the case, then let me copy and paste the quote that got me banned.  Let the other users determine if they've seen worse that didn't get punished.

So Colonels got a ban ALSO?  Well, this kind of changes everything.  I can say now that it would behoove anyone who wishes to keep posting to not have ANY negative comments about HD or certain "programmers".

Surprised that when another user stated that the lead programmer was turning into a debacle, that he wasn't banned also.  It's there, just go look.

Obviously not the case.  Colonels has been openly critical for quite some time and hasn't been banned before.

I think the big questions here are A. How hard is it to switch everything to the new engine, and B. Why wasn't it done in the first place? I mean, at the meat and potatoes of the situation here, you made about half of a new engine and are running the rest of the game off of the old engine...and you're getting paid to do this. Just saying this out loud makes it seem incredibly ridiculous. My guess is that the EA Sports' of the world don't operate like this...
fwiw, this post almost has the exact same message of the post that I was banned for.

Which begs the question, why the bans now?  What's changed?  Since it's "obviously not the case", explain to me, a_in_the_b, since you're apparently more enlightened than the rest of us, why now?

And FWIW, this is pretty much in line with the post that I got banned for.  Different phrasing, same basic concept........

You have been making an effort, and at least by me it was noticed, so I'm sorry your posts got caught in whatever sweep was made last night (from what I remember, zhawks and emy were far worse than you in making things personal).

The forum can always use another strong contributor, and not just another loud voice.

And FWIW, I am rather ****** to find out that the "new engine" I came back to the game to try out turns out to be only partially complete. I wouldn't quite use the term bait-and-switch, but it's damn close.

What's really funny is, ALL of my posts were apparently removed, even the ones that weren't "critical" of certain site staff.

Here's the thing, Seble says he didn't even see the posts before they were removed.  If that's true, then somebody else at WIS is monitoring the forums.  Fine.  But if it's CS, like the message I got says it was, don't they have anything better to do than monitor the forums.  Like, you know, answer tickets.  Without getting a canned response.  The farther this goes, the more it becomes apparent that this whole operation is being handled in a very unprofessional way.

I've been following the thread about Wiz losing his team and I admit, I'm still very skeptical about his claims.  But....................the way that some of the things in this thread have been handled leads me to believe that he might, just might, have a little validity to his claims.

I'm pretty sure the phrasing was the issue.
