33 Openings in 6 Public Worlds. Topic

Suggestions:

1) Put a freeze on new world creation when there is more than 20 openings in private worlds.

2) If Kruk has been unfilled for more than 2 months....  Disband any public world that goes more than 2 months unfilled.  Give each of the remaining owners a free season in another world.  Maybe even give them 2 free seasons.  WIS would still be ahead in the long run.

The conclusion I draw from that is Kruk suks
C'mon - he had the most hilarious AB in All-Star game history.

Update:  Back up to 34 openings across 7 public worlds.    They could take the world that has been on the list the longest (Kruk?), put all the remaining owners into the other public world openings and still not fill up all the openings.

I loved watching that AB by Kruk!

1) I don't really have a problem with that.  They're being very slow about creating new worlds but I think they do serve a purpose.  There are so many crappy worlds out there that an absolute or relative n00b would be turned off of HBD if he joined one.

2) This is a misconception of how things really work.  The people sitting in an unfilled world are doing so for a reason.  Just saying "OK, we're disbanding this world.  Here's a couple of free seasons to use as you see fit" isn't a viable option.   A)  There's no guarantee they join another world  B) I'd join a turd world like that at the last minute to get me some free HBD.

WIS is indicating they are adding a place for private worlds to also appear on the main worlds join page.  This should help new owners to identify the commish of a private world, and go that route if desired.

They're shooting for the next update to come out early next week.

Pretty long.  Kruk rolled 2.5 months ago and still has nine openings.
If Kruk went public from the start they would of filled within 2.5 months. About 3 weeks ago the public openings was down to 2 total openings. I know the commish of Kruk sent me a few invitations so he was trying, and I don't like the idea of going public, but generally once you go public you tend to fill the world in a reasonable amount of time, with a few exceptions.

So Kruk is private?

Kruk was private.  They couldn't get anybody to take the teams in question because the league is so imbalanced even though they were willing to pay someone to take them.  I took over the guy that was doing recruiting's team, and he made comments to other owners that people refused to join the league because of its reputation.  Because of the imbalance, how the imbalance happened, and the lack of interest from any of the owners in fixing any of the problems facing the league, I wonder if folding would not be the best option.

I believe they even had a rules commitee while I was gone and that small group of owners couldn't get anything done either.  About the only thing they seem to agree on is that I'm a loudmouth pain in the *** when something isn't right, which everyone knows anyway.  The entire Kruk story is an interesting one...one where the name was even changed a few years ago because the previous league had such a bad reputation and couldn't fill.  It goes to show that you can't just make a cosmetic change and think that all of the problems are fixed.

The last thing you want to do when having trouble filling is offer to pay people.  That reeks of desperation.

15 worlds have filled in the last 5 days including today, and the day is not over yet.

Little consolation to those who are still waiting for their world to fill after 2+ weeks.

The world chat in Kruk is very enlightening. I don't think I've ever seen a more dysfunctional world.

Hart, you were removed by admin and then came back when the world finally became public. It seems like you're trying to tweak them as much as you're trying to get it fixed?

I was in the league for several years, including one where admin finally admitted that there were teams that appeared to be ran by the same people, but wouldn't say who.  I left the league out of frustration for nobody wanting to fix anything and being blamed for the problems.  I came back this season when it was public hoping they figured out that I wasn't the problem.  They convinced Admin I was the reason they couldn't fill and had me removed, then proceeded to not fill and go back to being public.  Again, I'm hoping they figure out I'm not the problem and actually consider plans to fix things.  If that tweaks them along the way, so be it.

I don't think any of the 4 current public worlds have been public for 2 plus weeks, 3 of the 4 public worlds just recently rolled over. I am in 3 worlds that just recently rolled over and filled quickly.  Private worlds are responsible for filling up their own world, that is why they stay private as they want to pick and choose who they let into their world, they can always choose to go public and fill quickly as the public worlds have been filling at a reasonable rate.
