By blocking a chronically ****** poster like colonels, I can now judge whether he's said something worth reading based on the reactions of other people on the board to his posts. If it seems like he's actually making a useful contribution to a discussion, I can then easily go back and read those useful posts without being subjected to the rest of his crap posts that just muddy up a thread.
colonels, on the hand, seems to be advocating a policy of magically figuring out which posts from chronically ****** posters are worthwhile, and which aren't, before you even read them. Failure to exhibit this superpower indicates communist tendencies and a disgraceful lack of self-control.
Given that he's on the 'chronically ****** poster' list of a great many people, I can see why he'd take the latter position. But that still doesn't mean it makes a lick of sense.
