New album
Sleaford Mods - Spare Ribs
a British band - picture Ian Dury meets hip hop meets post punk in a melodic poppy trippy hip hop concoction with a think British accent.
interesting stuff.

Phil Spector died.
one of his overlooked production gems was End of the
Century by The Ramones......a really start to finish great rock and roll album with the Phil Spector sound.
Joey Ramone was one of the greatest rock and roll singers of all time and if you don’t believe me see how he handles Be My Baby on the album.

The inauguration was beautiful and inspiring and elegant.
and the artistry was amazing.

Lady Gaga did the national anthem and it was spectacular and a moving performance vocally and visually. Wonderful.

then J-Lo did America the Beautiful and did it in a way that I never heard it before.....like a new song.
as beautiful as priceless jewelry.

and at the end new American poet laureate Amanda Gorman delivered a stirring and handwoven soliloquy of a poem evoking the breadth of the American experience up to the insurrection and it brought the house down including my own.

and let me say that President Biden’s speech was a poignant call for solidarity in a time of multiple converging crises and he sang loud and strong in a quiet but reassuring voice.

The inauguration was a wonderful and patriotic song and poem of the endurance and hope of democracy.

I never liked A-Road as a baseball player. Once he said "it's not about the money" and then signed with the Rangers (who had no shot to win) for $250 million, I knew it was only about the money and not about winning.

Last nite's edition. Here you go Dino. Was a swell evening.

1st up---- Steve Forbert "Streets of This Town" (oldie but goody---I'd forgotten how good this one is!)
2nd Play ---- Fleetwood Mac "Kilnhouse" (Maybe my favorite of all the Mac releases---Danny Kirwan's best work, without doubt---This one shone again---still a fantastic listen some 50 + years after it's creation. Absolutely timeless music)
3rd --- In honor of the silent moment for our 400 K lost to Covid - 19 that Pres. Biden had the good grace to call for yesterday------- I played John Prine's "The Tree Of Forgiveness" and marveled/celebrated the way He left us this final present to cherish. IF a final release had to be------- well this one is a perfect finale!

I listened to the full album of Kilnhouse and it was great. No way I could listen to entire album if it wasn’t.
I think the first few songs on wild life show that Paul McCartney really liked it a lot too.

Streets of This Town is a great Forbert CD!!! Probably my favorite after Jackrabbitt Slim.

So, I did something to my back and can hardly move........... last few days.
Last night Kilnhouse (and a couple Dechuttes Red Chair NWPA bottles) had me dancing like a teen-ager again.
That LP is just all over the place......... from KILLER BluesRock jams like Station Man and Tell Me All The Things You Do to Buddy Holly style rave-ups to lost hit singles like Jewel Eyed Judy. Even some great tongue in cheek (I think!) Country with Blood On The Floor and Hi Ho Silver if you can call that Country. All in all it's pretty much always been my favorite classic Fleetwood Mac LP. I'm so old I used to listen to that while still in school.

There will be a reissuing of the Nancy Sinatra catalog
in 2021 leading off with a greatest hits retrospective.

So, excuse my ignorance....... but I do have a question.

How could there exist a "greatest hits retrospective" on Nancy Sinatra??

Doesn't it take more than 1 or 2 hit songs to have a greatest?? much less a greatest hits retrospective which would seem to imply that there are so many you need a retrospective??

I know of one I would legitimately call a hit (Boots).
Care to educate this cave dweller??

There are about 10 groovy albums many with lee hazlewood....off hand I can’t name them but she had several hits including the spy song but many sort of psychedelic stuff.
