My client has decided to forego... Topic

I got this message for a pick.   IIRC, that's usually a Red X, meaning he won't sign or negotiate, next to his name.

I was a little intoxicated, hit the arrow next to his name in the correspondence box and offered him more.  I checked the next day and got the standard "My client is unsure about a career in baseball(same as the first message I rec'd)......"    I thought I'd f'd up and would lose the comp pick.    So I went back and offered his initial demand, got the "unsure" message again and got the blank box next to his name.
He signed today.   Am I wrong about the Red X?  Did I accidently discover a way around the Red X?

There are ways around the red X... or at least one, which is to save correspondence from him and get into his negotiation page that way.  I think you can also copy his player ID into the browser for the negotiation page.

OK, that's what happened.  I went straight from the correspondence page(the arrow) to negotiate.   Guess I got lucky.   Got my #1 at 14 and really wanted him.  Had I not been drinking, I wouldn't have done that for fear of losing my comp pick.

Don't drink and negotiate.
