obviously the 5 seed was a product of the wimpy schedule, but shouldn't the selection committee see this team was one of the top 5 teams in D3?
Their non conference schedule was tough and the conference was weak. In non-con they lost 3 games and simply got hot towards the end of the season. If you look at the roster at thre end of the season (0 freshmen; only 1 out of 24 IQs under a B+ and that was a B), it makes sense how a team like that can be much better at the end of the season than at the beginning, but since the conference was weak how would the projection report know that this team had become that much better? I'm not necessarily trying to defend the seeding system either, but if any one of us would have compared the teams in Smith I guarantee you no one would have given this team better than a 3 seed. The selection committee is not the culprit on this one, they just made a great run.
