Which Recruit (D2) Topic

As an A+?

I do it all the time if the guy is unranked.

The scarier thing is doing it in D3.  I've been burned a couple times in D3, but I know that me being considered that early scares people into thinking I recruited him straight up, and a lot of times they'll stay away thinking the battle will be too costly.

And now that I've given out my strategy...

wow, you an A+?  I like the 2nd guy myself
Yeah, just got to A+. Pretty sure I'm on the low end of A+ because there were a bunch of guys that other A+ teams recruited straight up without being in the 70 mile zone.
im pretty sure there are no ranges of A+ in d2 (or any other prestige grade), with respect to how prestige impacts what recruits will talk to you, and which will not.

there definitely are different levels of prestige within the same grade in D2, and which recruits show up on each level of recruit screens.

the top A+ to a lower A+ will probably have as many as 15 recruits per position that show up on the D2 screen of the top team, but still show up on the D1 search of the lower A+.

And I'm also pretty sure that certain A+ teams can pulldown a recruit that isn't open to other lower A+ teams to pulldown.

maybe i am totally off on this one, then. it really doesnt make sense that there wouldnt be ranges for prestige grades, based on what we know about prestige and recruiting in general. but i just remember like 4 years ago (before winning most of my titles, or at the early part of it), that something happened that made me conclude there were no a+ ranges. i think i had like, just won my 2nd title at siue or something, and should have had a high a+, and a team with a low a+ was on the same guard as me, who was the very top of the range i could talk to. its been so long, but i think it was something like that - even if so, could be a coincidence. so anyway, im really not that confident, but now im curious... will have to check it out :) thanks

How do you know he's at the top range that you could talk to? Was he the #165 PG when the #164 PG rejected all your efforts (or something along this line)?

well, it used to work that, with the single exception of players within 70 miles - in d2, if the 150 rated sg would talk to you, and the 149 sg would not, then the 148 guaranteed would not, same with 1-147. and the 151 and unranked recruits (not internationals and not transfers) who were SGs would always talk to you. it was a 100% guaranteed rule.

however, when seble wrote the new engine, all these weird *** bugs cropped up, and while CS has repeatedly acknowledged some of these bugs exist, nobody has done anything to fix any of them. i call them all bugs though, confirmed or not, because seble claims nothing changed with recruiting except what is written in the change logs, and these issues are not. some of the bugs include things like players who initially show in your divisional search not being immediately recruitable, or the breaking of the ranking paradigm i explained above, as well as a handful of other smaller issues. so the actual concept of "top of your range" is much more ambiguous than it was back then.
