This is a two parter.

1. I have a C prestige team at LIU, but I haven't necessarily gotten a feel about what level recruit I should be targeting. Last recruiting cycle I know I aimed high and got beaten out by some higher prestige teams. Does anyone have any suggestions about overall rating or position rank for recruits I should be targeting?

2. Once I have these guys singled out, I'm not sure how to approach the first round of recruiting. Do I spend just enough to get them interested and see if another bigger school is on them, or do I go all in and try to lock out anyone else?

Any advice is appreciated.

I think as a low level DI team, patience is an absolute must.

I try to identify "A list" players that I think I have a reasonable shot at getting  and watch.   After about 24 hours if I think I can pounce on one, I go for it.

At the same time, I try to snag a  local "backup type" player who I can sign cheap (3-5k).

At the 24 hour mark, I reevaluate.

at texas southern i went heavy over low overall but high-high potential guys. I also went after ineligibles and redshirt candidates, after 2-3 seasons you'll have a good enough team to move up into the B range, at which point i picked the closest guy i wanted, went hard, and prayed (along with the usual high potential guys)
