I just inherited this team and ideally would like this guy playing in AAA at the highest level, would that be a bad idea to send him down after playing in the majors for a year?

If you are convinced he needs to be sent down, as long as it is still before the R5 roster freeze you can demote without any worries.

That's a freaking weird player; a "catcher" who bats right, throws left?  I mean, I know his ratings make him really a platoon DH on the wrong side, but still... it is quite rare for any non-pitcher to bat right, throw left, especially one that kind of sort of wants to catch.

Why would you send him down?  He's going to develop more quickly in the majors.  You don't have a clearly better option at C.  Ramirez only plays 1/2 time and you don't have anybody in AAA.  His PC isn't good, but you inherited a team that wasn't very good last year.  He's not going to kill you behind the plate.  If you're worried about that, play him in RF.

He won't develope anymore. He's had 4 pro yrs. If you want to send him to AAA, the reasoning should be that he isn't one of your top 25 players. I think he'd make a nice vL platoon at DH or RF. You'd be nuts to play him at C.

First, I'd disagree that he won't develop anymore.   I think he will.   He gained 5 points in CON and VL.   That's not how development ends.
Second, sure you can send him to AAA.    Not sure what the point would be but it won't hurt him in you do it before R5 roster freeze.
