If I call up a prospect after the roster expands, but want to put him back in AAA for the beginning of next season, will that cause a ratings hit for him?  What’s the best way to handle that?

Just demote him before ST games begin and you'll be fine.  Personally I demote them at the end of the season when I also take care of MiL promotions.

If you wait, you'll have to pay him 343k.   Demote him during the playoffs.
