At least it's realistic with what you might expect in real life. After all, a player who NEVER works out on his own and also literally does not care about practice or knowledge of the game (which is what a 1 WE would have to represent, the worst possible drive to succeed) would probably get worse over time, not better.
Unfortunately there are way too many people like this in the real world. What's worse is some of them actually end up getting lucky and working a good-paying job because they know someone or the person in charge just doesn't care that they could easily find someone who would work harder and better and therefore deserves the job more.
