scouting trips, house visits and campus tours Topic

Home visits are almost always the best bang for your buck.  Scouting visits are still very useful for pulldowns and determining high/high potentials, but are slightly less cost efficient.  The further you are from a recruit, the better the campus visit will look.  Do the math for a recruit >360 miles from you, and you'll find that its actually a better deal to use campus visits.

Also, your rule of thumb of 2 SV = 1 HV and 2 HV = 1 CV is very raw, there are more accurate figures out there.

Based on what I've seen, I believe 1 HV  is much closer to 3 STs than 2.  Also, the ratio for HVs to campus visits is somewhere between 2:1 to 2.5:1.  As clouseb said, the math tips in the favor of CVs when the recruit is > 360 miles from your campus.

Looking at your McMurry squad, I see you're only in 1 battle.  If this is the recruit you're referring to, I'd probably erase this info from the forums because you've just told the other coach exactly how much effort you have into the kid.  If this is about one of your other recruits, I would say the other coach probably informed of R/S to avoid a battle.  I can't image you would go from behind to completely knocking the other school off with just 1 HV and some letters.

That deleting is probably why some of this makes no sense reading it now LOL
