Offering Recruits Guaranteed Minutes Topic

So late last night when I wasn't in my proper mindset, I offered both recruits I'm targeting guaranteed minutes. Well the dilemma that brings is now I can't redshirt any of my new recruits. Is it at all possible to redshirt a recruit after you offer him guaranteed minutes? Or is it possible to redshirt a sophomore?

if you promised minutes the recruit will for sure be unhappy with the redshirt - his WE will drop a ton

it is possible to redshirt a soph, but it is harder than a freshman and they are less likely to accept

As fd said, you can redshirt a soph. If he is at a listed position with lots of others with better ratings he is probably more likely to accept. I run my pf and c positions essentially identical with my press teams so it isn't unheard of for me to have 5 pf or 5 c on the roster some years. In those cases I have even had juniors take an rs without fuss.

If the kid isn't signed, I believe informing of the redshirt will erase all promises, but you will then have to sink more cash in and if you battled for them they may start reconsidering you opponent. Definitely need the cash to consider it and I am not 100 percent on the promise cancellation as I have never tried it personally.

Yes, informing of redshirt cancels all prior promises with regard to minutes and starts.

If you then inform of non-redshirt, you then essentially start from scratch EXCEPT the kid will absolutely refuse a redshirt at this point because he's been told he won't be getting one - so if you want to redshirt him, you'll need to re-inform him again or he won't take it at all (even if he would have without an inform before).
