Demoting an Injured prospect on DL Topic

I have a young prospect that I called up to ML after the rosters expanding date. He got injured for 60+ days in that little stretch, preventing me from demoting him since he is on the DL. When and how can I demote him without him taking a ratings hit?

After rollover and before spring training next season.

Unfortunately, he will roll over on a ML contract, so his salary next season will be $343k.
