Player Development Question Topic

Hey guys quick question. I ran a few scouting reports on a guy that I signed and I got the "great speed for his position, should be MUCH quicker response" I took this as high-high potential right? So we are 3 games into the season and he has improved his speed by 2 points and has already gone from blue to black. What am I missing here? Thanks!

it depends on how many minutes he is getting and his WE that is a possible factor

That is low high. High-high for speed is *massive*.

Yep, speed is the exception to the capitalization rule...asterisks are better than CAPS when it comes to speed.

Stupid capitalization rule. Had me fooled! Thanks guys.

Got this in a different forum last night from guyo26, but dacj501 created it originally tinyurl.com/2eljoyu. It's apparently a fairly good representation and comparing it to a scouting report I got for a guy this year it seems fairly accurate.

its 100% accurate, he lifted the info off me :) i explained the breakdown of potential (was off by 1 pt in some cases) with the high highs years ago, but never kept up on spreading the info. he picked up the torch and has carried it quite nicely.

100% probable. I know I compiled it from some old source (or maybe more than 1) quite a while ago now coz I kept forgetting and had to go find the info again. Eventually I just made that cheat sheet for myself, but somewhere, somewhen someone had a question about it and I made that cheat sheet public and put up a link and it got some use from people. Naturally I have absolutely no idea where it came from anymore, but I see no reason to doubt gil's explanation :)

Related question ... Are there distinct low-high and high-high messages for FT shooting? I have only seen one high message for that attribute but haven't had enough experience/careful observation to be confident that there are not separate messages.

I got a "really should show some improvement," but I'm assuming that's the high-low out of the 2 messages, though I don't know if I've ever gotten a high-high. Anyone else get something different?

That spreadsheet is very useful. Thanks a lot guys!

mikvitu, it sounds like you have seen the same high FT message as me: "the fundamentals look solid, with time and coaching he could really show some improvement".  If there are two FT high messages, that one sounds like the low-high.
