Most Points Single Game by an Individual Player Topic

They added a release about 3-5 years ago where the more shots a player took, the more it would negatively effect the field goal percentage. Before that time and if my memory serves me correctly there was a center that scored 86. Maybe less than a month later, Fred Neece, a shooting guard that played for my team at the D-3 level had a 94 point game.

anyone ever had any luck getting kids to score big with motion offense?

i usually have a pretty balanced lineup,  especially with motion,  and rarely put any individual player much more than 20 out of 100 distro.

but i inherited and absolute freakshow of a d3 stud at babson rupp,  and not much around him,

i think my best setup for that team has him at around 30-35 distro,   and that was good enough to have him be the leading scorer in the nation (ive never even come close to consdiering such a thing on one of my teams)  but we are likely headed for the PIT or maybe a one and done in the NT if we can avoid CT upset.  so the scoring title is keeping it interesting.

but bullman has a kid that is similarly freakish and he has passed up my boy and has been racking up several 40 point games.  i think he leads my kid by about a half point per game now with both of them close to 29ppg.    he has the advantage of triangle offense which i think allows bman to give him higher distro,  but..   he is on a defintie NT team and playing about half his games vs humans (who, you would think, might doubleteam him occasionally)

the motion, i fear, is working against me,  but in my favor is that i have played almost exclusively simmys.

so,  (finally the actual question)   waht happens when you give a kid 50 or 60 or 100 distro... and is it, as i fear, a particularlyy bad idea with motion offense?

does he just not shoot that much more?  or does he shoot way more but percentage goes way down?  and or does he start turning it over at an insanely high rate.  this kid has 30ish bh and pa and i actually play him occassionally at SG without too bad of turnover issues  (most games 3 or 4 TOs, only one game more than 4 TOs---6)  mostly i play him at SF. and the questionale ball skill is even less of an issue. cant recall, but the 6 TO game may have been when i tried 40ish distro.

here he is:   Alfred "the butler" Considene

my question... how in the heck does simmy end up with and develop this monster?

what about tempo when trying to get max points for one player?

first thought is uptempo as that would increase # of possesions and shots for the team... but then he would also tire more quickly and assuming that i dont think its a good idea to play him dead tired  (its not...is it?)   he would play fewer minutes and may not get any more shot attempts.

other crazy ideas//// play zone despite our F iqs in an effort to leave him fresher and allow him to play a few more minutes (normally we are m2m)  but then again,  that F iq might result in foul trouble...hmmm....

also,  maybe, if his points are my true goal, i should try to make sure that the other starters have the best possible PA,  even if they have other weaknesses.   and that gets us back to the question of the importance of PA for big men.   i could,  if i wanted to be drastic, put a gaurd at PF which would  effectively be replacing a 30ish PA starter with a 60ish PA starter (although the 60ish Pa kid is C+ iq and the normal pf is A iq)   also could start my backup C who has 45 pa vs the starter at 30.

thoughts?    dont tell me im over thinking it... i already know that

http://www.whatifsports.com/hd/PlayerProfile/Default.aspx?pid=2581002 This guy is scoring at a pretty good clip for me.  45 in his last game (OT though) and he's getting about 35% distro.
Dude must have put in a good summer.
I had a good senior class last season, so he was my 4th scoring option.  He had a lot of high/high's.  I am just wondering if I should bump up his distro more since his FG% is good...

6 40 point games or above, including a 53. Needless to say, we suck with only him scoring, but it's fun to watch him go. He's a heck of a scorer.

Brandon Dunham
Idk about him being a heck of a scorer. He's extremely inefficient.
Let me amend my statement- he's a heck of a scorer BECAUSE he's the only guy who takes many shots. I meant simply he puts up large stat lines. The shooting percentage is quite poor.

He has a low stamina rating for a D-2 senior guard, which may contribute to the low field goal percentage, in addition to taking so many shots which will cause fatigue. He would be much more solid with an 80 speed rating and a stamina rating of 90.
