Exhibition sim vs. real sim Topic

One more question: What is the different between the sim used for Exhibition games vs. real league games?

I want to do some tests in exhibition, so I want to know if exhibition results are reliable? Specifically, I want to run tests on the ast% bump

supposedly a different engine.  Less coaching options for sure.

no fatigue

Its not no fatigue, its just a lot less. In a full season I believe the accepted max is 102% of RL minutes. In an exhibition, guys can play between 110-120% of their RL min/82. For a full season (in leagues w/o rookies) you want around 19,500 minutes. For an exhibition, you only need 17,500 to 18,000 minutes.

exhibition seasons are 10 games long and most players don't hit the fatigue wall until 10 games into the season so may as well = no fatigue

Yeah that's true for players with 3,000+ min... short minute (<500) players burn out easy... about 6 months ago I tried a team with about 14,000 minutes to test my theories on fatigue. The starting lineup was 09-10 Chris Paul (1712 min), 06-07 Dwyane Wade (1929 min), 91-92 Larry Bird (1662 min), 95-96 Dennis Rodman (2088 min) and 64-65 Wilt Chamberlain (1597 min). The idea was to play them all 36 target mpg. I won my first 2 games by a combined 37 points but then lost my last 8. The score of the 10th game was 156-37. All starters were below 50% stamina 4 games in. They all finished with sub-30 fg%. There is definitely fatigue, but its more tolerant in exhibition than full season. I learned that lesson when I had a full-season team with only around 18,200 minutes. I was 29-12 at the break, but finished 44-38.
