a question about "mop-up" setting Topic

In a game the other night I noticed that the fourth player I had listed at the PG position, and who was also designated only to play only during "mop-up" situation, came in at the end of the game at the C position.

So, my question is, if take him off the depth chart altogether but still list him as a "mop-up" player will he still come into the game during those situations or will he not play at all because he is not listed anywhere on the depth chart?   Thanks.

No, he will not play a single minute.

Thank you, very much appreciated.

I think if some mega calamity like multiple injuries and foul-outs happened he might play, as the engine would try to find someone to put on the court, but I'm not 100% on that. It might just re-insert player with 5 fouls...

Okay, so here is another question, if I have a player set to "foul trouble only" will he come into the game during mop-up situations?

Sorry, I couldn't get any of my guys to take a redshirt, so I have used these settings in a long long time.

This isn't true, there is no setting in the game to guarantee a player won't play a single minute. The only time this is a big deal is if you're trying to redshirt a senior at the end of the season.

I mean their is a very very good chance he wont play.

I would say there is a 95% chance a guy will never play if you leave him off the depth chart and set him to mop up.

how does foul trouble only work? Is it that the player only enters the game if the guys ahead of him get in foul trouble, or, instead of subbing out when he gets tired, does he just stay in the game forever (assuming not a backup) until/unless he gets in foul trouble himself?

The latter, the player only comes out based on the foul trouble settings.  I've no idea what that setting would do for a guy coming off the bench.

Yeah, that was a dumb question on my behalf.
