I've received this sort of e-mail before, but not after only spending $10 on the guy with a phone call. Then, I get this from my assistant coach...

"I think (recruit) is still on the fence coach. We're going to have to do a decent amount of 'recruiting' to sway him our way.

Head Assistant Coach
Anderson"

Someone help me out here. Is that a sign to go get this kid or am I just looking to far into it and this happens regularly as a response to a phone call?

Yep, that just means he is a direct recruit. If he shows up one division above you (you're a DIII school but he is on your DII list) then he is within the 70 mile exception
