Recruits that go play JUCO Topic

I signed a guy to a scholarship, but he ended up going to JUCO.  Will I get him next season?  Or will I still have to recruit the guy?  If so, do I get any credit for the money I sunk into him this year?

Thanks,

Chris

No. Yes. Yes, about a quarter I think.

agree with TJ (although I don't know anything about the ratio that carries over)

Depending on how much effort you had into him, he may begin recruiting considering you next season without any additional effort (you'd still need to offer the scholarship to sing him of course). Biggest drawback with this is the kids always seem to go to junior college on the other side of the country...

They also sometimes change levels. I have d 2 recruits go juco and c o me back on the d1 list.

TJ, I had this happen to me recently also. The guy was for my virginia union team and I believe he ended up going juco somewhere where in Illinois. I could be wrong about the state but he was definitely well outside 70 miles from my campus. Even though he was on my DI list I was able to recruit him for right away. The odd thing was that even though he was considering me after the second cycle he still showed up as a DI recruit

The other drawback is that if it's a local recruit, he  might wind up deciding to go JUCO clear on the other side of the country and now instead of paying cheap rates to go after him, you're paying the cost at a distance of 1,000+ miles or something. Which always, always, ALWAYS makes my day when it happens...
