Funny, because the only reason I ended up in HD was because I was on a wait list to get into a world in GD. Joined HD, think I tried a free season in GD, quit that and never looked back.

It is like a train wreck over there. I have to peek in every now and then just to see how fubar things are. What if obviously learned nothing from the horrid way they rolled out version 2 and decided to jump off that cliff a second time.

It's a shame.    I thought the game was pretty good before all the updates.   It was a little run heavy and hard to win as an underdog but they sure did butcher it.   It went from 60 run plays a game to 80 passes a game.  Once the stats stopped resembling "real" football  I stopped even considering going back.

I agree...the lack of realism in the game and the lack of evident football knowledge on the part of the development team just chased me off. I actually inked a pretty toxic open memo to them back under version 2.0 for their stupidity in pretty much every facet of the rollout from method to product. I saw the handwriting on the wall with v3.0 and not even their free season offers could lure me over there.

That's why I'm always a little cautious every time people complain about wanting them to radically update the engine here on the HD side of things. I know the pooch screws that the past two GD updates have devolved into.

It's a decent game (it's my main one on here, admittedly). WIS jacked it up. I still enjoy it enough to play, but no doubt in my mind HD is a better product. The only reason I am against updates to HD is because of what happened to my beloved GD.

To be fair, the game still shows promise. However, the development has fizzled out almost completely. They haven't even implemented injuries or missed XPs.

I am really enjoying GD. Part of that might be because I never really played the other engines.

I will never understand why GD wasn't patterned after HD...never.  I believe they both came out in 2004...I played the very first season of both, and remembered enjoying HD and being thoroughly disappointed by GD.

I always wonder how my view of push-buttons skews my opinions of these games too, though i don't think it does much, back when both games were created, the CFB push-buttons were considerably better than the CBB push-buttons, especially from a recruiting standpoint...so again, I'm not sure if that raised HD and lowered GD in my eyes out the gate or not.

Same here.  I feel like I got in at the "ground level" with 3.0.  It's definitely not as awesome as HD, but I enjoy it for what it is.  I'm still holding out hope that GD will get better over time.
