OK to take redshirt or not?? Topic

Hey guys just informed a player of a redshirt and he replied by saying "Hey coach Im not ok with redshirting next season, I think I can contribute now, etc." But he is still considering me. Does this mean I am good to go to put the redshirt on him or will he still sign with me but not take the redshirt like he says? Thanks

You're good.  He will take the redshirt with no work ethic decrease.
