D1 Unfireables? Topic

Hey guys,

Just crossed my mind (and please don't take the **** out of me about this), but are there any D1 jobs that you can't get fired from (again don't say all lol) and/or if not, do you think there should be a low-level D1 (baseline?) prestige that you can never get fired from...D or D+ and lower?

I'm having a fair amount of success at New Orleans and my job isn't close to being in jeopardy, however I want to coach there FOREVER.  I took them over as a D.  Is there any chance I ever get fired?  Should there be a chance I ever get fired?  Just looking for some opinions here as many people find the firing practices to be lacking (me included, though I guess I'm in favor of low-level unfireables).  Interested to see what turns up.  Thank you and take care.

the list of jobs from which anyone has ever been fired is darn short

Any competent coach in a near empty conference as long as you don't recruit recklessly will probably never do poorly enough to get fired.  If you just recruit players better than the SIMs do, schedule appropriately and not ghost ship your program, you'll probably win some CTs on occasion and get to the NT.

With that said, if you end up with 10 wins or less season after season, you'll eventually get fired after some 10+ bad seasons (or fewer really bad ones).

Dude: look at the court -- it might already have your name on it at New Orleans! You have a job for life & could take some more risks with scheduling & still have no worries about job security ever. Good job with that turnaround. Your team is legit. But I will still jab you about your penchant for scheduling lots of SIM's -- you are fighting below your weight class when you do that. GL with conference play.
