its the recruiting thing. the thing is, most human coaches do the same thing every game, too. predictability wise, at least in the regular season (and how many sims do you play in meaningful post season matches?), i dont agree at all thats really the issue - thats not even a meaningful part, its negligible. the issue is the sim recruits awesomely bad players and then plays them. the actual sim base game plan is better than plenty of human coaches, it seems to me. they get a lot out of their good players, it sort of depends on the type of team, but some teams sims do play pretty nicely. the problem is, even with those teams, their top players are usually mediocre. i've left d1 teams with few openings and had the sim take them (mid majors) to a couple NTs and a PIT or something along those lines - better than many humans would do. i've also left behind bcs jobs that others could walk into and compete for a title, with 6 openings and some great local recruits, and the sim instantly destroys the program, by recruiting 6 players who are just god awful. im not saying they are good at game planning or anything - but its the awful recruiting that accounts for most of the sucking. oh, they also do a terrible job setting depth chart, by listed position or something (hey, isnt that something that could be affected by seble's changes?). i actually don't know they really do listed position, but others have said it, and i never cared to check. but sometimes their starting lineup is straight up retarded. that is also part of it - but that falls firmly in the team setup camp, has nothing to do with predictability.
