Just finished my first season in HD and my team is poor at best but has one or two players that could be decent. I have 2 power forwards and a center that will all be seniors. However want to start my redshirt freshman at center next year and the senior C is a better fit at PF for my new style. Since I don't have any good offensive young PF right now I would like to change his position, redshirt him a season, and maybe start him next season. This would help me get better balance in my classes and maybe give me a chance to redshirt his replacement the following year... Can you redshirt a senior if you move him to another position and there are 2 seniors ahead of him in that position? What are the chances he accepts?
The chances anyone other than a Freshman accepts a Red Shirt without a drop in WE is almost nil.
But for Seniors, you usually don't care about WE as they have usually already developed as much as they can anyway. However, one thing to remember is that an upperclassman can just leave at the end of the Red Shirt year.
So, if you take a change and Red Shirt him, his WE is almost certainly going to go down .. and it is possible he transfers at the end of the year. For some players, it could be worth that chance. I mean, if you aren't going to win this year anyway, it might not matter much even if he leaves after the RS.
