Never seen a FA that I had an offer on and was the top offer sign over night without seeing a letter come back saying my offer has been topped.  Does this happen much? or is it just a bum luck?

It's more likely to happen if the other offer is much more than yours. In one of my leagues, I was going after a part time catcher, and I offered him about $3 million. I was the top offer for over a day, but then another owner (stupidly) offered him $8 million. He signed with the other guy immediately.

Ok, I know I dont have many seasons but thought it was a little weird.  It was a 24 year old RP and the offer he signed was 200k over 3 years more than mine.  I just thought it was a little strange.  He wasnt a game changer by any means but could have used him.  Thanks for the thoughts.
