Fatigue Settings Topic

Need some help from the vets.

I've never use 'Substitute by Fatigue' setting. I always used target minutes. So I decided to give it a try.

It says "* Sub for this player when his fatigue reaches this level." So I assumed that meant if I set a player at Tired, he would come out when he reached tired.

I set http://whatifsports.com/hd/PlayerProfile/Ratings.aspx?tid=0&pid=2671574 to 'Tired' , but he played the first 36 minutes of the game, many of which were 'Tired' minutes.

Can someone explain what I did wrong?

You need to set him at fairly fresh.

THat said, you have something wrong with your depth chart.  He should have been subbed for much earlier.

Why, though? I had 2 other guys set to Tired and combined they played less minutes than Bologna. Foul trouble I think. But still, why would it need to be fairly fresh when it says "* Sub for this player when his fatigue reaches this level."?

Doesn't that mean "sub for this player when his fatigue reaches tired"? He definitely reached tired before minute 36.

Not complaining because I would've lost anyway. Just trying to understand.

Thanks.

were the other guys listed at other positions or were they only under him in the depth chart?

It actually works a little different than that. There are times during the flow of the game when you can't get a player out of the game until he is actually in the next level from his setting. An example is he is set at fairly fresh but moves into getting tired before he comes out of the game. Most of your players should be set for fairly fresh (The most efficient setting). I don't set anyone over getting tired ever. Once they get close to moving from getting tired to tired diminishing returns start kicking in. The longer they are on the floor the less efficient they become. Also the settings are most important for your starters because they go back in as soon as they recover to fresh. So there is no reason to set a nonstarter to anything but fairly fresh usually.

Do people generally get better results from using this fatigue vs. minutes setting?  Relatively new to the game and have always used minutes.

very few people use minutes any more. The engine is not nearly as forgiving as using fatigue. The sim will try to get your players their minutes without concern for how tired they may become.
