Work ethic related to promises Topic

I have a freshman who was international that I offered a start to in recruiting because I didnt have money for anything else and I took him without knowing his potentials.  After he reported I decided his potentials werent good enough to keep him around for 4 years and so I made him 3rd string.  He has a 28 work ethic which is bad but not catastrophic.  And he's not going to improve so much without getting real playing time.
Anyways, we are now 8 games into the season, and the players hasn't complained and hasn't lost a single work ethic point.  Why is this?  I was thinking maybe players with low work ethics might not mind be lied to as much?  But I don't know.  He should have taken issue with not starting games ago.  Anyone understand this?

It is possible that he rejected the offered start, in which case he can't hold you to it.  Check your recruiting history with him.

He definitely accepted the start.  I only signed him for $110.

The last couple guys I had complain didn't do so until after noncon was over (same type of scenario).  After noncon is when I got the email saying they were upset and that's when the WE took a hit.

im pretty sure it would be considered a bug in the game if he didn't end up leaving (assuming you keep him benched), and you could get him removed via ticket if he sticks around.

It's late enough in the season that he should have complained, but it's early enough that there is plenty of time to go.  We'll see what happens.

bug or unlikely event?  not everyone leaves after a broken promise, do they?

I also think it does not happen until after non-conference, at least that is when players complain about minutes. It may be the same for not fulfilling a promised start.

Recently, I think there is a lot more randomness as to when guys complain.  I had a guy recently not complain until after the 20th game - without any starts.

I had a guy complain after missing 2 starts in the first 7 games... He went -25 on WE. I've just started conference play and he's started every game since he complained... If I keep him in as a starter will I get back the lost WE points?

You should get most, if not all, of that lost WE back.  He'll send you an e-mail saying something to the effect of he's glad that you kept your word, blah blah blah.  There's a chance that you may end up losing a point or two (him not reverting back to his original work ethic) but yes, should get the losy points back.  Now that's provided you keep starting him.  If you make him a sub again, watch out!

How would you get him removed via ticket?  So he stuck around, isn't that a risk every coach takes when they recruit a player?  We've all had plenty of upperclassmen and sophomores complain about PT and threaten to leave.  If they stay, do we get to send a ticket on them also?

CS might end up removing the player, after all, they've done some "interesting" things.  But to me, that's just helping a coach who made what he now feels is a recruiting error.  We've all also recruited players that we realize later we don't want.  But in order to get rid of them you either don't play them, hope they get mad and transfer, or you cut them from your roster before the next recruiting cycle.  Asking CS to remove a player because you're not satisfied with him and he won't transfer is just a bit much I think.

I bet he complains sooner or later

If he doesnt, he's the rare kid who didnt mind.  If I were support, I would not take him off the roster because you wish he would have become unhappy.

well... i wouldnt take him off because you wanted him to leave. however, i was under the impression if you blatantly broke a promise, the guy was going to leave 100% of the time. to me, him staying would be a bug, and only because its a bug, you might be able to get it reversed. but maybe not. maybe some guys stay, i've never heard of one though so i figured it was guaranteed they'd leave.

He ended up complaining about 14 games in, then left after the season.  I ended up dropping that team anyways.
