Quick Question

I've sent a recruit 69 phone calls and 70 letters and he still hasn't even begun to consider my school.

Is there something about the 40/40 that i'm missing?

Did you make sure he was recruitable first?  Sounds like you might be trying to pull someone down with calls and letters, which I don't think you can do now

The 40/40 rule may differ by prestige as well.

I assume you offered scholarship? I know it's a dumb question. Just making sure.

When I first started doing letters/phone calls at D3 I was in the B range for prestige and I only got guys to consider me about half the time.  It wasn't more of a sure thing until I got into the A/A+ range.  And that's only for guys that started on my D3 list.  If they were D2 dropdowns, calls and letters didn't seem to do me much good.

or is it different in drop down mode?  in DI, you cant make that many without him getting peeved

its hard to know how many letters a kid will take because you will (unless it recently changed) get a positive message to ALL the letters and calls you send in a given cycle, no matter how many, unless you are already over the limit (or maybe at the limit?). you don't actually get credit for them all though (i tested that). i've never taken the time to figure out the letter/call counts after they got rid of international unlimited letters (nooooo, although i've honestly had to send 40k in letters before, and that was incredibly brutal - almost 300 sets of letters - so im actually not that sad about it) but certainly if 40/40 doesn't work, don't keep throwing more on, you probably got 0% effort for a lot of those.

I remember losing battles for internationals and never figured out the unlimited letters thing until they got rid of it.....
