Have any of you did it what the up/downside.   I don't like how they don't show the possible results.  I have a PG with Good LP and high upside Does he lose that if I change him to SG.

Absolutely not.  There are no changes to the attributes, the players performance is in no way altered by switching positions.  This feature was mainly introduced for coaches who wanted more control over which "player role" formula each player was rated with.  If you don't use the player roles, then theres no reason to mess with switching positions.

to the last question, no. potential and all that is independent. this affects very little in the game really and is mostly useful for sorting and such. 

to the first question, I used it with a team I picked up last season where I cut everyone and recruited 9 new players. I switched all the positions around except for the center so that hopefully lazy coaches would see that my leading scorer was my starting SF but really that player played the 1...we still went 2-25, and then i bailed for a new team in Tark GLV, so now there are things like this for the simai - I wonder what position it will play him at...

(if you cant see the player he's a 60 ath 60 spd 22 reb guard that i was allowed to label a PF...)
