Recruiting Battle Question Topic

Getting ready to start recruiting.  He has the pre-consideration of a SIM AI team.  SIM AI is a C prestige, D2 and 400 miles away from him.  I am a B-, D3 school and 100 miles away.  Do I have a chance (if he even gives me the backup e-mail).?

you have a chance.  But you should wait until the word on the street comes out to see if he's tight or if its easy to steal him.  Otherwise there is a good chance you'll waste a lot of money.

keep in mind all sims recruit like they are 200 miles away, so you can't rely on him being 400 miles away to give you an advantage.

definitely best to wait for WOTS if you aren't sure, and find if the guy is light, medium, or heavy considering the sim, and go from there. what you left out that is really important, is how many spots each of you have. sims go heavy for their top target and less so for their lesser targets. if you can identify the top target (which is somewhat of a crap shoot) it can help, and also knowing how many recruits they have considering gives you some idea of the odds. like, a sim with 3 openings, that 1 guy is fairly hard to take. maybe not as hard as the top target of a 6 opening sim going after 4 recruits (they always go for 2 less recruits than they have spots, at the start), but with that 6 opening sim, 2 of those guys are pretty easy to take, and 1 is probably a medium WOTS who you can still probably win. and how many spots do you have? what about conf bonus money? thats a major factor in the figuring as well.

generally speaking, battling up against a sim shouldn't be your first action, until you are experienced in those things. its better to feel things out, go for some other guys and get some idea of if this is the kind of season where you have money to spare, or not. that should be a significant factor in your decision to battle the sim or not.

to the straight question of do you have a chance, definitely, i've fought many of those battles and have yet to lose. but is it worth it is the real question - and that is much less clear and much more situational.
