play slow down and hope you have guys that can play good at multiple spots, have one of your best players come off the bench for scoring

This suggestion is out of left field, but I know that the zone teams play slower and can keep their stamina up easier. Would you consider playing Zone, even if that's not your team's defense? Plenty of zone teams play 8-9 players easily.
