I have a freshman on my team now, it looks like he is going to be high-high in five categories. I got him late in the process on a start and scholly, he has a bit of a low we. He is going to be the highest rated pg on the roster it looks like next year. Would he be more likely to take a shirt if I sign a juco/transfer pg who is higher rated. Would it matter if I didn't give him any playing time in the first exhibition game. Thanks guys.

Freshman in general are pretty receptive to redshirts, I believe i heard a stat of like 80% chance to accept no matter the conditions around them and it goes up or down depending on variables and rating. The chance would go up if a higher rated player is in front of him you are correct, the low WE will be a problem and I have combatted this by RS the player and letting them get a year of soak and making sure when they are active they will recieve 10+ minutes.

I just redshirted a SO PG during recruiting and he took it.  I did have one older and higher-rated PG on the roster, though.
