Distribution against FCP Topic

Just looking for some advice on setting offensive distribution against the full court press.

What types of players score well against the press? Do individual match ups matter?

Any thoughts or tips will be appreciated.

Thanks!

If you have a dominant scorer (especially one with good ball handling), you can up their distro vs. the press. The weakness of the press is that it can't dictate match ups. Similarly, if I've got a FT shooter that's at the B grade or better, I might tweak their distro a bit since another weakness of the press is that it tends to foul a lot. I'd love to "invite" them, via increased distro, to be fouling my guy who knocks them down at 75+ percent.

Many coaches seem to tilt distro more toward their scorers with better BH/P.

is it just BH/ P Skills or is Ath. & speed calculated into the mix along with them to determine the best player?

Let me preface this by saying i'm no great coach but..When we're talking about ball handling its not just the BH rating.   Other factors go into an overall BH rating.  I feel like BH + Passing is probably about 70% of the equation and then 30% for speed/ath (speed probably being 20% of that 30%).  I feel like people undervalue passing on here.. in my mind, and maybe i'm wrong, i feel like 40 of that 70% is Passing and not BH itself.. i've yet to win a NT or even make a final 4 so maybe i'm off my rocker lol..

Thanks for the input, guys. FCP definitely seems like the hardest thing to gameplay for me. So, I'm willing to try all of that.

So, it sound alike if I have a guard who has high spd, bh and passing, I'm better off setting him him as a high distro versus my PF who is my leading scorer, but doesn't have the ath or speed of the guard?

Sometimes if they have a unit that is weak defensively on a press team, such as, say, both posts having weak defensive capabilities, I'll concentrate distribution there. No, you can't target individual players like you can in man to man - but you can sometimes target units. And if you can get a couple guys in foul trouble on a press team you can often cause a fatigue cascade.

(I mention a weak post because that is going to be way more common on a human run team than a weak guard unit. Not too many human coaches are going to be running a press with their guard unit being their big weakness. I hope.)
