Signing seniors..... Topic

I know its a redundant topic, but I cannot find any prior posts or links on this strategy in the search engine. Would someone mind posting the pros/cons one more time, or just post the link, if there is one available? I would great appreciate it!!

Pro's:
-Can sign to round out a recruiting class and get your carryover money, without having to sign a mediocre freshman who will be on your roster for 4 years
-Can promise a start + 30 minutes playing time without worrying about fullfilling (may suffer slight hit to coaching reputation)

Cons:
-Are often at a premium, you may have to legitimately battle someone for him
-D1 schools can not sign D3 transfers
-D2 schools often have D1 teams take their players at the last minute.

If I only have 1 spot left and don't like any of the talent left, I will always throw some money at a SR TR.  Why not?  You're gonna lose the money anyway, might as well take a little if you can.

So if I take a walk-on and do not sign him, I do not get the money for that scholarship, correct?

The money will not roll over however if you dont sign the walk on you will be given your normal amount for an open scholarship

In my limited experience at D1, you can sign D3 transfers if you're D+ prestige or worse.  At C-, your AD steps in and waives his finger back and forth at you, doing his best Dikembe Mutombo impression.
