I'm at 4 teams right now, all DI, in Allen/Naismith/Crum/Tark.  I'm a good but not great coach, and I think past conference mates would agree that I'm fun to have in a conference.

I'm thinking of adding a fifth team.  So, other worlds: I'm shopping.  What should I know?

SMITH/IBA: not interested

PHELAN/KNIGHT: I like Tark, but these are the newest worlds... how populous/competitive are these two compared to Tark?  To Wooden/Naismith?  If I were to pick one of these up, it'd likely be Knight, which is 15 days (almost half a year exactly) off of Tark, instead of Phelan, which is just 4.  Tark and Knight sync very nicely.

WOODEN/RUPP: Rupp is probably the best new fit in terms of one-days: it'd be Naismith [10 day gap] Rupp [17 day gap] Allen [12 day gap] Crum [11 day gap] Naismith.

Actually, now that I look at it... that's a very convincing argument.  I might even pick up two new teams.

So... does anyone have a strong case to make for Wooden and Phelan vs. Rupp and Knight?

Not judging, just curious:  I've had a Smith team in all 3 divisions since Day 1 of joining HD.  I think we have some good coaches and plenty of competition at all levels.  So I'm wondering why you say you're not interested in Smith?

It's only four days off from my favorite world, Allen.  Smith's a good world, but I'm leaning away from it 'cause Rupp/Wooden look more appealing.

what division you going for?  IMHO Knight D2 is very competitive. We have a few openings in the Heartland conference but lots of great coaches too. From my team you can see schedule and some of the coaches around.

Remember that I went so far as to provide visual aids when making your decision.

Ok, that makes total sense.  Good luck, Cornfused!

Heres a quick blurb about each of the D2/D3 2 world a day conferences.  Playing Tark and Phelan you are on a very similar schedule as Phelan is only a few days behind Tark.  Knight starts when Tark is entering Conf tourney time and Phelan is starting regular season conf slate.

I would rank D3 of the 2 a days as: Knight-Phelan-Tark
Knight I believe has more heavily human conferences than either Phelan or Tark.
Phelan has a few power conferences but I believe has the least total D3 human coaches, if you can get into the top 2 conferences it is very competitive(USA south/Northwest)
Tark I only played 1 season so I'm not exactly sure how competitive it is.

D2 Tark is dominated by the GLV however they're a good amount of other conferences with a lot of humans.
D2 Phelan seems the most wide open I'm guessing.
D2 Knight I have not played but always hear on the forums it is one of the best D2 worlds.

I would say D2 Knight-Tark-Phelan
If you get Tark in the GLV or Cali Collegiate it could be the best.

Knight would have the longest wait since the season just started.  I believe D2 knight is acknowledged as competive however I have not played D2 level there.  I would say D3 level is fairly competitive with about 4 "major" conferences with 5+ members(heartland[9] usa south[8] freedom[5] southern cal[7] ) and then some other conferences with some human players but under 5.

Tark is currently in conference tournement time so wil be open relatively soon. D2 has about 7 human heavy conferences but the GLV is the most dominant with 5 of the 6 teams in the last 3 National Championships.  Don't know much about D3 as I was only there for 1 season.

Phelan is the most empty I believe, however has some very top heavy conferences.  In D3 look to join the USA south they have probably the toughest conf slate of any D3 team as well as probably having one of the more active conference message board.  World is nearing conference tournament time so will be the 2nd 2 world a day team to open to public.

Shameless plug to join D3 Knight in the Southern California Conference if you do plan to go to Knight.

I made the call - two new worlds means I don't really need them to be 2/days.

D'Youville-Wooden and Colorado-Rupp, here I come!

You made the right choice Wooden but wrong conference. Come join norm24, bowen brian, and myself in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association. It has been quite a while since we have been in the same conference would be fun plus we could use some new blood. Looks like I am too late but I had to give it a shot. Good Luck!

I'll hit you up for an exhibition game, for sure.
