Need 1 for 1967 Career Progressive League Topic

We need 2 owners for a Diamond Legends or Career Progressive League which started in 1961 and will soon be advancing to the 1967 (it's 7th) season. Details on the 2 teams available will be provided in the following posts.

In the Diamond Legends (or Career) WIS leagues, players use their average career statistics. In this specific league, that will mean using their average career statistics in a progressive from their first year of eligibility starting in 1961 through their last year of WIS eligibility. In this league, Don Sutton (whose rookie season of WIS eligibility was 1966) will be eligible every season from 1966-1988-no IR seasons !!

The league has 16 teams, Alternate WIS format E (4 teams make playoffs) No DH,No WW, No AAA, No injuries. Salary Cap $80 million. Owners must use the actual ballpark used by their franchise in 1966.

Annual drafts will be in inverse order of finish except that for the first round only there will be a random weighted lottery among the 4 teams with the worst record (4 chances for the team with the worst record, 3 chance for 2nd worst etc.). The tiebreaker will be run differential (runs scored less runs allowed) with the team with the worst run differential drafting higher.

The first team available is the Cincinnati Reds. The Reds had the best record in the league in 1966, 97-65.

The Reds had 2 players retire after the 1966 season, pitchers Robin Roberts and Terry Fox. If the Reds kept all of their other players, there would be $6,571,362 available to replace the 2 retired players. Any players cut will increase the amount available (but will also increase the number of players needed) by the amount of their salary shown below.Since the Reds had the best record in the league, they will be drafting last (16th) for the 1967 draft.

Following are the batting statistics for the Reds 13 hitters for the 1967 season:

Note-in season 1, due to a shortage of IP, all teams were allowed to draft one 1941 pitcher, with the stipulation that all such pitchers would retire at the earlier of their actual retirement date or 1949. The Reds drafted Claude Passeau, who will retire in 1947

Interested owners will be given immediate access to the league's private forum, which will shortly have a preliminary list of available players. The final available players and the draft schedule will be posted as soon as all keepers have been posted.

The first task of new owners will be to post keeper lists using the lists of 1967 players posted above.

The 2 available teams present different opportunities. The Reds will be continue to be immediate championship contenders, while the Yankees have a lot of available salary cap room to draft good players. The preliminary available player list will include all 1967 rookies and players not previously drafted, any players cut by all teams will be added to the final available player list.

The Cincinnati Reds are available again-jeff4noles decided at the last moment that the Career League format was too complicated for him.

The draft is underway and the Reds took Pat Dobson as the 1st round draft choice.
