Just won my Ct in Naismith as a 4 seed after pulling off a 63-61 win vs the #30 team in the projection report. My team has 1 senior, 2 juniors, 4 sophs and 5 freshmen.

WOOOO!

My most awesome moment was winning a National Championship with my strongest class being Sophs. Two of my worst moments were losing National Championships. You feel awesome and lucky because it takes a lot of luck when you win one. When you lose one, you feel like you are the worst coach in the world. LOL!

One of my title game appearances was a fluke, and I didn't feel all that bad about losing that one (but a win sure would have been nice...) the other 4 loses I really felt we had a chance, and in 2 of those I thought we were clearly better. Guess I got outcoached... My lone win felt great, but would have been devastating had we lost as we were undefeated and kicking everyone's ***** regularly...team had (last time I was able to check) awesome scoring SF who is still #2 in scoring for that world...

the latter is how im feeling now after seemingly running a potentially dynastic Whittier-wooden rpogram (started by the aforementioned coachv) into the ground.

Same here, Oldave. I remember some teams that I thought were real contenders for the NT, and they end up being second round or S16 flame outs. My favorite was going undefeated, #1 RPI/SOS, winning by 25ppg, then losing in the 2nd round and my best player travelled at the buzzer to lose the game. Great coaching there.

When I've won, I've never once felt like that was the best team I've had. I've had much better teams never go anywhere.

I feel like this game is a lot like poker. The best players (coaches) win consistently... but the variability in any one hand (game) is still very very high. It really sucks to slog your way through a tournament for hours or days to only get all in against a big stack with an 80/20 chance to win and then lose it. That's it... it's over, time to start it all over again. The post-season in HD is the same way. It takes a lot of consistently good decisions to build a program and get to the post-season, but luck can end it at any time.
