When is it that you can get a kid back on the court from injury?  I think I read 70% somewhere.  How much negative is put toward the player for playing at 70% opposed to 80% or 90%?

i think its 60, jay.

i  really dont know how the injury % is factored into gameplay.   ive always hated playing guys at less than 100%,  but sometimes you gotta.

one guess is that maybe all the skill ratings are multiplied by the health %?    so a kid with 80 speed at 75% health would be similar to a player with 60 speed.  but that is just a guess on my part.

Im pretty sure that it doesn't effect the chances of getting injured again though.

1. Just as a thought exercise, I multiply the injured player's ratings by his health % and ask myself if I'd want *that* player playing, and in what role.

2. The official WIS statement, if I remember correctly, is that health % doesn't factor into the possibility of subsequent injuries.

Yeah thanks guys, I thought that it didn't matter as far as getting injured again.

llamanuts, that is an interesting concept.  I obviously don't have any idea how true it is, but it sounds interesting.  Maybe I can slowly get him back into the lineup by using that multiplication factor.

1. The player considers himself "able to play' (for minute and start promise purposes) at 60%

2. The degree to which the health % impacts play is unknown. I did receive a statement once that it is not as simple as multiplying the ratings by the percentage of health remaining to get new values for the injured player, but that is as good as I know anyone has received for an explanation of the health % to performance. Generally, I hold off putting a kid back in until he's at 80%, but if I need someone to mop up minutes for fatigue purposes, I have bent to as low as 75 before.

For me, it depends on how much better they are than their backup, and if they are providing something critical. For example, if the injured guy was my only decent perimeter shooter, then my threshold for putting him back in is much lower. If I'm short on rebounding and he's a good rebounder, my threshold is lower. If he's an extra perimeter shooter and I have a ton, I might wait longer.

I usually take most of the distro away from my injured players until they are above 90 percent then feed it back to him as he approaches 100 percent.

I have a freshman player who broke his ankle 3 minutes into our first exhibition game. I promised him starts, so when his health got over 70% I put him back in the starting lineup but limited his minutes. We are in a rebuilding year, so I don't care about his quality of play that much. He has played in 3 games now and his health is up to 83%. The odd thing is he's not improving in any of his other ratings. He dropped a Reb point right after the injury and has since gained that back, but he has not actually improved in any category. He does have a low 30 WE (which is why I wanted him to start), but that would not explain zero improvement. I assume his health issue is the reason, but if he is able to start, why wouldn't he be able to practice? When can I expect him to start improving at a normal rate?

what are his practice settings? odd that after so many games there wouldn't be any improvement...

I'm changing Def with this team, so some extra practice minutes are going into that, but he is black in Ath & Spd and getting 15 practice minutes there and he is blue in Def and getting 16 practice minutes there with zero improvement.

I think I heard one time if they are injured at all they don't improve.  That could be way off though.  I will say this, my guy is -3 in total (hasn't played in four games with a bad WE).  But, you figure if the cutoff is 70%, then they should be practicing.
