Type D Draft Picks and FA Compensation Topic

I have a Type D pick that is #23 overall from my 1st round pick I did not sign last season. My other 1st round pick is in the top 10. If I were to sign a Type A free agent, would I have to forfeit my Type D pick at #23, or would it be my 2nd round pick?
