I just want to make sure I understand correctly...

If I have five open schollies in DII thats 25k recruiting cash. If the conference recruiting cash is 9k. I will end up at 30k, because that is the max per season. The additional 4k will not be added on to make 34k, correct?

My understanding is that you would still get the full conference recruiting cash no matter what, so it would be 34K.

there are three seperate components:
1) carryover (1/4 of what was left last year if you have no walkons
2) conference tourney bonus  
3) base amount figured on # of open schollies with max of 6*x

# 3 is capped at $30,000 in d2,  but you still get the full amount of the others and could potentially have $40,000 or more if in a great conference and some carryover.

That is the max you can get from scholarships. The postseason money and carryover cash from last season are different pools, so adding those is, you can exceed your 30 thou. In your case the 34,000 number is correct(if you have no carryover cash to add to it). With the right carryover and an 'empty season' where no empty spots are there to recruit for, your recruiting cash could even get quite a bit higher.
