Currently sitting at 86k on a recruit 10 miles away. Thats 300 home visits. I've lived with the kid for a year!!!

OMG that's just crazy! I've only played at D3, so my experience does not apply.
How much recruiting money do you get at the D1 level.

My top is 12.5k in DII. I still haven't reached DI, so I don't know about that kind of money. In DIII, I spent close to 7k on a recruit. I am sure I am not even close to what some spend on future all-americans.

I got into a d3 batte with Pumphead years ago and dropped 12,000 on a center I didn't get at d3.

At Louisville in D1 I dropped $90K on a recruit and didn't get him.... it was heart breaking.

i dropped roughly 30k in d2 once to fight off an a- bcs d1 school and lost. i was pretty bummed, lol... it may have only been 25, but i think it was closer to 30 than 20.

guess I forgot to add - also lost.

I think around 15k at D2 for a guy that I lost, and I had to spend 10k that cycle against a sim but at least I won that battle.

8k in DIII on a center that i did end up getting

D3:   17K and lost to a conference mate.   During the glory days of SoCal in Knight and we were flush with cash (we were all stealing recruits from neighboring D2 schools left and right).  Went after a very good (but not amazing) guard that a conference mate went after too.  He had the location advantage but I thought I could scare him off.  Realized I was probably going to lose but became stubborn and kept pursuing

D1:  90K+ (not sure the exact amount).  As a B- fighting a much higher prestige school.  Was an experiment to learn more.

I have gone over $100,000 a couple of times.

I've spent over $9k and lost at D3, not sure D2, I've spent close to $60k and lost at D1, and multiple times spent $45-$50k.

I don't have spending limits, it all depends on situation, but 3x or 4x what a scholarships "costs" is when I start to feel like it's getting pricey.  And fighting, and losing, the prestige battle at D1 can burn through cash quickly.
