I'll take Ted Williams and Bernie Williams, will need to study the teams to determine which seasons.  If I understand the theme,  we can then twist any of the players on those 2 rosters to any year we wish?  No matter what team they're on?

That is correct brando, as long as baseball reference has that player on that roster. You can use any season of that player.
