sta/sets/minutes chart? Topic

Has anyone done the research (and willing to share) as to the optimal minutes for a player based on stamina, offense and defense sets (team and opponents) to maximize (or minimize effects of) fatigue?

Dont know what you mean by "optimal" but I track how many "expected" minutes I will get for each player depending on their STA and fatigue setting.

My current calcs are based on me using M2M defense only though since thats what my current teams have used for several seasons.

Zone= 1.1
Press= .9

Slowdown= 1.1
Normal=1
Uptempo=.9

I just pulled that out of my *** but it works okay as a baseline.

Stamina = total minutes times 1.02. You get a two percent increase over the players real stats.

Optimal = settings by target minutes to avoid materially adverse of fatigue.

I do, except on press teams. I prefer to Target player's minutes.

I used target for D&EC a lot of the season 2 years ago, when I had 8 upperclassmen and 4 good sophs. Needed a way to keep my sophs on the floor enough not to walk. Dropped it in the playoffs of course, but I don't remember it burning me at all that year. I just made sure my target minutes erred on the lower side of 200.

90-95  /   28-32
85-90  /   24-28
75-85  /  19-23
60-75  /   14-18
50-60  /   9-13

Ive never set anyone to max minutes but Ive also never had a stamina over 95 so someone else would have to verify how well they play with 99 stamina

I'll use target minutes in some shoe in games to make sure specific players build up some minutes.

What set/ pace?
Ive mostly run "motion/triangle" at normal pace.  Ive never run anything other than "man" on defence so to adjust for zone or press im not sure how far either way

this is my other ID (waykbordr).  I do have a new team that is going to run zone so in 4 or 5 seasosn Ill have an opinion on that,  i hope :-)
