Here is my 15 WE player. Looks very similar to milwood's guy. Spd, Def, & PE were high categories.

The second season  there is the important one, IMO.......the season where his WE is 19-24 his PER improves 13 points.....now if his WE was in the 50's it would probably be a 25+ point growth but 13 is signigficant.......I feel like the "damper" put on player development is seriously lessened somewhere around the late teens/early 20's.

WE didn't really matter for affvid's player as he was already D3 suitable coming out of high school.

Trenton I am testing your theory on WE this season! I recruited a 16 WE player with blues almost everywhere and core stats already decent. I am going to redshirt him.

I am coming up to recruiting (starts Friday) I will look for a 15-20 WE guy. Always scares me to go anywhere under 30! Lol

The real benefit of these guys is that they are inexpensive.  There isn't a lot of competition for them.

I wouldn't say that the WE didn't matter for Plenskofski. Had he been a 5-10 WE yes, he still would of been a serviceable player throughout his career, but the fact his initial 15 WE provided at least some growth and that I was in a position to start him from the beginning to get the WE higher has allowed him to develop into a very good D3 player. His 57 Per is still blue. I'm projecting 60 Ath, 80 Spd, 85 Def, 80 Per, 72 BH, 40 Pass, 80 St by the end of his career next season. I can win some games with players like that.

I will be interested in more discussion on this to see if people think a 10 WE guy could improve enough to be more than just a career backup. Right now, I wouldn't go that low, but it wasn't that long ago I wouldn't have gone as low as a 15 WE. I've found it can work under the right circumstances.

I had an 11 guy be awesome.....search my old Work Ethic Test threads.

I believe reading some of those threads is what led me to trying a couple low WE guys in the first place, so thank you for that info Trentonjoe! I might need to review it again to see how a 11 WE guy would work.

I'll have these two patrolling my center spot this year at a D3 school I picked up. They should be playing 20 minutes a game and possibly rotating starts. Lucas has way too much to improve so I'm focusing on the core categories, but Jones is really only low post so maybe he has a chance to see some actual growth.
