I like the random feel to the  ST, sure it's frustrating but it adds a human element.....I have scouted 100's of kids and after one trip  not been able to get a good feel for "x" or "y".....in many cases I have been wrong on my initial scout......with that being said, I have never not noticed something major after 20 trips :)
If you mean
more realistic by saying human element, I guess that is true. It is certainly less clear what the player will be. That is realistic. Its kind of lke Ryan Harrow for John Calipari at Kentucky. He brought in Harrow to the PG, had him on the team practicing for a year during his "sit out" transfer season and thought he would be a good PG, and he completely fell apart when he started playing. Ended up that UK missed the NCAA Tournament that season.
So even the best coach, when hand picking their star player, can misjudge and make mistakes. If the ST fuzzyness is meant to duplicate that, it works.
