Secretariat/Gretzky/Fischer & my Dos Equis moment Topic

I woke up this morning and for the first time in my Simleague History and found that I have the best total overall record in every league that I'm in(3 themes and 2 entries in the same OL). Of course it won't last and I became real humble when I thought of some of the people that I've never finished ahead of before. I know that the egos are large here but I thought this thread could be used to list and give credit to your toughest and most knowledgeable fellow (excluding yourself) Simleague Opponents on this site and why. Mine in no particular order are. 1) Grizzly....Using his system, he patiently rest his players early and like clockwork will then go on a 45 out of 50 run. I know first hand as I watched a 14 game lead evaporate over a 50 game stretch barely holding him off by a game. And my team was playiing .640 ball!. Talk about a guy that will embarrass you.  2) Contrarian......haven't been in many leagues with him but this site isn't worthy of the information gleaned from his unbiased informative threads. 3) Pillsbury.... Like Bobby Fischer I don't see this guy much but everytime I see him in a league, I jump in. He's the only guy I believe that in multiple leagues that I've never finished ahead of (I think I'm Oh for 4 vs him).  One season I rattled off 117 wins but of course he had 125. Any others? Feel free to repeat any of mine.

The list of "best of the best in SLB" right now starts and ends with brianjw, in my opinion.

And crimsonblue, thanks for the shoutout.  Not sure I deserve to be ranked with the other guys you listed...I hold my own in most leagues but rarely come out on top against the best competition on this site.  To the extent that I have made a lasting contribution, I do hope it's in the "knowledge management" sphere...because it's almost certainly not for competitive excellence!

Mensu, skunk & sford come immediately to mind. dougpalm, as well. Ligapelota is almost as good as his numbers, which is saying a lot. I no longer enter the kinds of leagues elbirdo wins, because he always wins. One more who's under the radar but is deadly competition in progressives: annakourn.

No offense, doubletruck, but annakourn's leagues need a Judge Landis type to clean them up!

One owner who's caught my eye recently is pillsbury, who I've been competing against in the OG Twist league.  Always wins a ton in the regular season, and then violates the "WIS code" by continuing to win in the playoffs.

contrarian23 in a prog is very tough, as is grizzly in a theme, and dougpalm in a TOC.

UPDATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!.............BECAUSE OF THE CHEATING SCANDAL, I'm removing Pillsbury aka (Pillsbury Rafael Palmeiro Lance Armstrong) from my list of 3 and replacing him with Skunk. I feel cleaner already.

Ha!  I remembered posting something complimentary about pillsbury, too, but couldn't recall the thread.  Thanks for bumping it so I can revisit my childlike gullibility.

Hey, how many good and decent people stood on the side of the road and cheered Lance Armstrong. For a minute I even felt happy for that marathon crashing Rosie Ruiz.

What about the Dos Equis? It is my favorite beer and not available here in Italy (though I can Sierra Nevada now as a consolation). It is in your title but not your text.
