What stats do you use Topic

I'm not exactly new but I started my account a couple years ago at 10 years old (super baseball stat junkie). I, like most 10 year olds at the time, got tired of it and abandoned it, now high school just flat out sux. I get straight B's just sleeping in the back of the class. Might as well go back to what I used to love. I made a team and remembered why I loved this website, but my team is at even .500 and all these other teams are either at .300 win% or .700 win%. I use the AVG#, OBP#, HR/100AB#, etc#. What do you, more successful users use? I also notice it's the same people killing me over and over, do you ignore the stats and use '94 Duffy, '01 Lajoie, '08 Brown, etc (don't want to give ideas) cuz they always do good. I need some advice since my one HOF uncle kinda stopped going on this website.

1) Get off your a$$ and get A's, not B's.  It isn't that hard and it will make a difference in your life.
2) This game is all about finding value appropriate to the league salary cap and drafting the right number of PAs and IP.
3) Basically you are looking at the correct stats.
4) $140 with 60/20 WAA is a very competitive league.  I'd draft close to the best pitching I could and mostly worry about premium players up the middle (CF, MIF and C) and maybe at 3rd.  I'd let my AAA fill in the rest.  I am guessing you really need to draft less than 4000 PA, but I rarely play higher caps
5)  Get off your a$$ and get A's, not B's. It isn't that hard and it will make a difference in your life.  (This can't be stated enough.)

Remembered why I stopped going on this site now, after I set a team, none of the buttons or options work. Can't call up/send down AAA. Can't change lineup or pitching rotation, and it keeps bringing in my mopup pitcher in close games. Freaking tie game top of 10th, time to bring in mopup to give up 10 runs without the first out and then give it to my 3 setup men at 100%. Thx whatif

zubinsum is absolutely right about 1) and 5). Take it seriously. We all went through it, but the world of the next few decades is not going to be one that is convenient for those planning to work with the strength of their backs instead of the sharpness of their minds - see Moneyball for example.

He is right about 2) and 3).

I would add, and with regard to 4) that $140 mil is a crap shoot. It is not something to bum about if you are playing .500.

The lower salary leagues are more likely to reflect the nuanced differences, whereas $140 mil with WAA will work according to different dynamics.

As to the technical problems, see my comments in another thread where you asked about it: your browser and the site have some issues. It is possible that you have a computer virus, so download a good anti-virus and check, or simply that you need to erase the cache of websites viisted and cookies. But click on the piece of paper icon at the top of where you put in URLs and see if there are compatibility issues. If so, download a different browser - Chrome if you use IE or Firefox or vice-versa.

And get As. Find the smartest girl in class and get her to help get you interested. Then ask her out...
